3 Quick Tips to Organize Your Jewellery Business WorkspaceMay 17, 2022

Organization. Yes, I can hear you groaning, but we need to talk about it! For some, organization may come to you as second nature, for others, it might be something that you constantly procrastinate.
However, in order to be successful in your personal life and professional life, you need to be organized! Having a tidy workspace boosts productivity, allows you to think clearly, and can help you run your business fuss-free.
I’ve got three easy tips for you that will help you stay focused and organized. All you need are a few materials!
1. To-Do List Makeover
Forget about losing your planner with all your tasks listed out. One of my favorite ways to keep organized is by using a D.I.Y Corkboard To-Do list. You’ll need the following materials:
- Tape & Masking Tape
Divide the corkboard into three columns using tape (bonus points if it’s a bright color). Next, add some masking tape across the top of the corkboard (this will become the top row). With a marker, write from left to right: To-Do, In Progress, and Done.
That’s it! All you need is to write down your tasks on post-its and pin them on the To-Do section, and as you work on them move them to In-Progress, and eventually to the Done column.
2. Master the Art of Labelling
When working with jewellery, labels will become your best friend. Here is how I keep my products organized. You’ll need:
- A big drawer
- Masking Tape
- Small Boxes
On the edge of each individual drawer, add a layer of masking tape. With a marker, write out the products that you can find in the drawer. Organize the products in smaller boxes and align them with where you have written the product name on the outside of the drawer. Label each box with a specification, for example, ring sizes. This way you can see which ring models need re-stocking when you open the drawer!
3. Elevate Your Space
I leave you guys with this quick and easy tip! Instead of having your tools locked up in a toolbox or thrown around your workspace, invest in a Magnetic Strip for tools!
Not only will your workspace look neater, but this will allow easy access to your tools and as a bonus, it makes for great decoration.
Now, organization doesn’t sound too bad, no? Give at least one of these tips a try and see for yourself how easy it can be! No more scattered products, no more missed tasks, and finally a clean workspace! Your mind will thank you for this and you will see your creativity soar in a neater environment.
